Following a year like everyone else's, a year of uncertainty, struggling finances and struggling businesses, my own business took a tumble and my knowledge and passion through my studies strengthened. After 10 years of training dogs and studying animal behaviour and psychology, my Environmental Studies degree took more of a focus into the depths of Ecology and I was instantly hooked! A lightbulb moment occurred and after months of job hunting for entry level roles with no experience uncovered nothing, I realised that I had an opportunity for reinvention. I needed to find a way of gaining physical Environmental Management and Ecology experience, while supporting my learning and gaining ground on the Ecology job of my dreams.....habitat creation in small spaces. If I was to rebuild a business from the ground up then why not do what I am passionate about!? In January 2021, I started my own research project which you can read about on the neighbouring pages and this developed into a project where I now offer the design and creation of combined habitats in small spaces, to people that need help getting started or that need help in supporting themselves and their families which you can read about on my fundraising page. By combining companion planting and wildlife friendly habitats, my combined habitats provide food for the table, local communities and a haven for wildlife including insects and pollinators.....as well as taking a small step towards helping reduce carbon footprints and climate change in a sustainable and completely organic way.
